Duckworth to Serve Food at Elgin Soup Kettle Tuesday
Tammy Duckworth will be serving food at the Elgin Soup Kettle Tuesday evening. The Soup Kettle serves meals to 60-100 individuals in need every night and is a partner agency of PADS of Elgin, which seeks to be a safe haven for homeless individuals and families within our community. Tuesday’s event is part of the Hunt.Fish.Feed initiative, sponsored by Sportsman Channel and Comcast, which taps an underutilized food source—game meat and fish donated by sportsmen—to feed those struggling with hunger across America.
"I'm excited about this unique opportunity to support an organization that is providing much-needed assistance to those struggling with hunger,” said Duckworth. “Elgin Soup Kettle and PADS of Elgin are serving our community in a vitally important way.”
Duckworth is passionate about supporting local food pantries and soup kitchens and volunteers regularly at the St. Paul Food Pantry in Bloomingdale and Feeding Greater Elgin. Duckworth’s congressional campaign also continually collects donations of peanut butter for local food pantries at the campaign’s Rolling Meadows office.
