Tammy Duckworth for Congress

Duckworth Campaign Issues Statement on Walsh’s Insult to Veterans

At a town hall Sunday, Congressman Joe Walsh said of opponent Tammy Duckworth’s military service, “Now I’m running against a woman who, my God, that’s all she talks about. Our true heroes, it’s the last thing in the world they talk about.” Campaign Manager Kaitlin Fahey issued the following statement:

This week we celebrate our country’s founding and we are grateful for the courage and service of all of our military men and women throughout our nation’s history. Congressman Walsh’s comments insult those who sacrificed to make this country free. Tammy is proud of her over twenty years of service with the Army and her family’s legacy of fighting for this country. We can’t recognize our servicemen and women enough and ask that we keep them in our thoughts during this holiday week.

Courage and Common Sense

Tammy Duckworth and Senator Durbin

Tammy Duckworth has shown courage in her life and has shown common sense when it comes to dealing with the challenges that we face. She can not only help the veterans get on their feet, she can help unemployed workers as well. I am proud to endorse her.

She's the kind of person we need in Washington to make the practical decisions that will move this economy forward out of the recession, creating good paying jobs for the future. People in the 8th district will have a strong voice in Tammy Duckworth.

Senator Dick Durbin, (D-Illinois)
