Duckworth Locks in Chicago Tribune Endorsement
Releases Video on Walsh's "Mitt Romney" Tax Plan
The Chicago Tribune today announced its endorsement of Tammy Duckworth for Congress in Illinois' 8th Congressional District.
The Chicago Tribune editorializes that “Duckworth, an Iraq War veteran who lost both legs in combat, says her work for the state and federal Departments of Veterans Affairs prepared her for battles in Congress, and her status as a lieutenant colonel in the Illinois Army National Guard would inform discussions about military spending cuts…Duckworth's military service and hands-on time in Washington” make her the stronger candidate.
The Tribune announcement demonstrates Duckworth's strength as the candidate of choice for the March 20th primary. Earlier this week, the campaign announced the endorsements of the Daily Herald and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
Duckworth also released a video today on Tea Party Congressman Joe Walsh's "Mitt Romney" Tax plan. Recently, Walsh announced that he wants to eliminate the capital gains tax. Such a decision would mean that millionaires, including Republican Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney, would pay zero taxes while middle class Americans would still pay their fair share.
