Tammy Duckworth for Congress

Duckworth Proves Fundraising Prowess Again

The fight to unseat Tea Party Congressman Joe Walsh will be center stage in the national effort to break the GOP’s gridlock control of Congress. Early fourth quarter totals (for the period ending December 31) show Democrat Tammy Duckworth financially ready to run a tough race.

Duckworth raised over $470,000 in the year’s final quarter bringing her total money raised to nearly $1,000,000 since entering the race less than six months ago. More than 6,500 donors have rallied to support Duckworth’s campaign, making her one of the top fundraisers in the country for the second quarter in a row.

“Most candidates experience a drop off in fundraising after the first quarter of their campaign, and ever more so when you include the holidays. But Tammy is showing her staying power as she continues to win the support of thousands of people. Tammy is clearly the strongest choice to face Walsh in the November general election,” said Kaitlin Fahey, Duckworth’s Deputy Campaign Manager.

Courage and Common Sense

Tammy Duckworth and Senator Durbin

Tammy Duckworth has shown courage in her life and has shown common sense when it comes to dealing with the challenges that we face. She can not only help the veterans get on their feet, she can help unemployed workers as well. I am proud to endorse her.

She's the kind of person we need in Washington to make the practical decisions that will move this economy forward out of the recession, creating good paying jobs for the future. People in the 8th district will have a strong voice in Tammy Duckworth.

Senator Dick Durbin, (D-Illinois)
