Tammy Duckworth for Congress

Political stunts and Washington games

Our country is in the midst of a jobs crisis and Congressman Joe Walsh's solution seems to be name-calling and political theater.

That's not my approach. Facing serious problems, the best fix is bold action and thoughtful solutions.

Last week, Joe Walsh attacked President Obama and pulled a media stunt. By contrast, I offered my plan to put Americans back to work in Illinois and across the country because I know that the way to retain our strength is by investing in our citizens.

Please stand with me by making a contribution of $25 so that we can keep the conversation about jobs.

My plan, "Getting America Back to Work," outlines priorities for investment in infrastructure, education and job training. It identifies business tax incentives to encourage hiring and economic growth. It also provides specifics on reducing the deficit, including ending subsidies for the oil and gas industry and allowing Medicare to negotiate for cheaper drug prices.

We need to develop 21st century jobs that can't be shipped overseas, protect workers' rights, and help businesses invest in our workers. We need to ensure the American Dream for all by investing in the American worker. That’s why I’ve developed a jobs plan.

Will you contribute $25 today to help get rid of Joe Walsh and his political stunts?

Thanks,
Tammy

P.S. Without your help, politicians like Joe Walsh are are going to keep playing their Washington games. Contribute $25 and help me fight back.

Courage and Common Sense

Tammy Duckworth and Senator Durbin

Tammy Duckworth has shown courage in her life and has shown common sense when it comes to dealing with the challenges that we face. She can not only help the veterans get on their feet, she can help unemployed workers as well. I am proud to endorse her.

She's the kind of person we need in Washington to make the practical decisions that will move this economy forward out of the recession, creating good paying jobs for the future. People in the 8th district will have a strong voice in Tammy Duckworth.

Senator Dick Durbin, (D-Illinois)
