Joe Walsh, classy guy
Did you see the latest from Congressman Joe Walsh? He's apparently decided that when the President of the United States comes to Congress to share his plan for creating jobs in the midst of a deep recession, he doesn't need to be there.
Congressman Walsh seems to think it's all a big game, saying that he refuses to "be a prop" for the President.
Well, Congressman, I have news for you: The people of Illinois are taking this jobs crisis much more seriously than you are. And they expect their Congressman to take seriously a proposal from the President. Disagree if you must, but at least listen to the proposal.
These kinds of political games are exactly what's wrong with Washington. And that's why I'm so proud to be working every day to help elect Tammy Duckworth to Congress. I hope you'll stand with Tammy and fund our grassroots organizing campaign with a $20 monthly donation.
Of course, it gets worse. Now it is being reported that one local resident called Congressman Walsh's office to express concerns, and this is what Congressman Walsh's staff said:
Mr. Walsh does NOT represent the nation as a whole in congress, nor does he represent all of his constituents, he only represents the Tea Party, its members and its core principles. ...
We here at Joe Walsh’s office do not believe there is an economic crisis and if there is one, it was created by the sitting president and not anyone else.
Unbelievable.
Unlike Joe Walsh, Tammy Duckworth will take her job seriously, represent every resident of the district, and listen respectfully to anyone who has an idea for creating jobs. Will you help fund our organizing operation with a $20/month donation?
Yes, count me in. I'll donate $20 a month to fund Tammy's grassroots organizing team.
Thank you.
