U.S. Senator Dick Durbin Endorses Tammy Duckworth for Congress
Tammy has the proven courage to lead and the common sense that we need in Washington.
ELK GROVE – During a joint visit to a manufacturing company located in the 8th Congressional District, Senator Dick Durbin enthusiastically expressed his support for Tammy Duckworth, a candidate for Congress. Durbin and Duckworth both hailed Bley LLC for creating high paying local jobs in a down economy.
“Tammy’s life story of service could not be more inspiring. From overcoming teenage years on food stamps and free school lunches to being one of the first women pilots to fly combat missions in Iraq. She has the proven qualities of leadership and the perseverance required to get our country back on track. Tammy will fight for sensible solutions to our economic challenges like the types of green energy jobs we see here today.” said Durbin.
Duckworth pledged to work hand in hand with Senator Durbin to put people back to work in strong cutting edge technology companies such as Bley LLC. The company took advantage of federal incentives aimed at growing the alternative energy economy – incentives that Senator Durbin was instrumental passing.
“The families of our communities want practical solutions to very hard economic problems they face everyday. They are tired of Tea Party rhetoric and Washington shouting matches that don’t do one thing to create jobs, improve public schools or protect our senior citizens living on fixed incomes,” said Duckworth. “I couldn’t be more proud to have the support of Senator Durbin because he works everyday to find common ground. I want to join him in Congress to end the partisan bickering that is holding us back as a country,” she added.
Senator Durbin said that he was endorsing her campaign because “Tammy has the proven courage to lead and the common sense that we need in Washington.”
