Break out the sponges and mops
It keeps getting worse. The debt ceiling crisis. The S&P downgrade. The stock market dropped more than 600 points. But we've heard nothing about getting people back to work. Or about saving homes. Or restoring hope for the future.
Congress has gone on vacation - even though there's a huge mess to clean up.
You may have heard that John Boehner is coming to Chicago this week to raise money to send Tea Party extremists like Joe Walsh back to Washington.
This is why I am running. I believe we need to take a reasoned, rational approach to solving our community's greatest challenges.
So I have a message for the Speaker: Go back to DC and clean up the mess you made. It's time to break out the sponges and mops.
Join me by signing our petition to let Boehner know you're not on board with his plans to appease the reckless and irresponsible Tea Party. We'll hand-deliver it to Joe Walsh - with some cleaning supplies - in time for Boehner's fundraiser.
We all know it's going to take more than sponges and mops to get this country on the right track. I'll write again later this week with some ideas on how we can fix this mess and move our country forward.
